Coalitions for INtelliGent
Mediation of Information Retrieval on the Net Project
Summary: RACING project applies Rational Agency Paradigm (RAP)
to the domain of Intelligent Information Search in distributed, autonomously
maintained, diversely structured and formalized information resourses
being a part of the next generation Semantic Web. The project will use
DAML+OIL ontologies for providing the Mediator Agency with the capabilities
to go beyond the simple keyword based search. Ontologies as formal theories
supporting knowledge sharing and reuse will be used not only for information
resource annotation, query formulation and distribution, but also for
providing semantic interoperability among the rationally motivated intelligent
software agents participating in an open coalition and performing mediation
activities. Rational mediation methodology (formal, architectural frameworks
and the prototype of RACING mediator) will be developed in the frame of
the project. This contribution will be evaluated on Zaporozhye State University
Unified Information Space testbed. |
